My Story: How I Can Help You Escape the 9 to 5

Quitting the 9 to 5 grind and chasing your dream sounds like a fantasy, doesn’t it? You picture yourself sipping coffee at a beachside café, working on your passion project while the waves crash in the background. That vision of freedom is hypnotizing, and I’m here to tell you—it’s possible.

But why should you listen to me? There are a million gurus out there claiming they can help you build a million-dollar business overnight or turn your side hustle into a goldmine in five easy steps (spoiler alert: there are no shortcuts). Trust me, I get it.

That’s why I want to show you exactly why I’m the right person to help you escape the rat race. I’m not some wannabe entrepreneur regurgitating popular advice. I’ve lived through it. I’ve thrived through it. I’ve face-planted through it. And now, I’ve got the tools to guide you through your own escape route.

From Early E-Commerce to Venture Capital

Like a lot of us, I was an early adopter of e-commerce. Back in the early 2000s, when buying airline tickets online was groundbreaking, I was already selling products on eBay like a boss.

But here’s what I learned very quickly—selling online is hard. It’s a hustle. Sourcing products, competing with thousands of other sellers, constantly creating new listings—it drained me. The profit margins were razor-thin, and I was spending hours for what amounted to peanuts. And worst of all? Every time I went on vacation, I had to shut the whole operation down just to keep up. It wasn’t freedom—it was glorified chaos.

That’s when I realized what I really wanted—location freedom. Long before “remote work” and “digital nomads” were trendy terms, I dreamed of running a business that wouldn’t tie me down to a place.

Fast forward a bit, and I took a detour into the “cottage industry.” My mom and I built a business from home, crafting baby clothes and dog sweaters (yes, before fancy dog fashion was even a thing). We sold our products to high-end boutiques and department stores across the country. And while the creative side was fun, I was still swapping hours for dollars.

Climbing the Corporate Ladder (to Nowhere)

Eventually, I thought, “You know what? Maybe I belong in the traditional workforce.” I jumped back into corporate America, armed with my skills in banking and securities. I climbed the ladder, managing massive portfolios, building processes, and snagging every promotion I could.

Here’s the thing, though—every rung of that ladder just confirmed that I was climbing in the wrong direction.

I hit these moments of frustration (hello, mid-meeting existential crises) where I thought, “Is this really it? Is this my life?” Don’t get me wrong, I understand why climbing the corporate ladder works for some people. But for me? Not so much.

Does this resonate with you? Sitting at your desk, wondering why you’re not thriving like everyone else seems to be? Thinking, “There’s got to be more out there than this.”

The Entrepreneurial Pivot

When I finally faced the fact that the 9 to 5 wasn’t for me, I started venturing into a world that excited and terrified me—entrepreneurship.

One particular experience stands out for how completely it transformed my perspective. I stepped into the world of venture capital and began mentoring entrepreneurs. We’re talking hundreds of people with bold, creative business ideas. I helped these visionaries turn cocktail-napkin sketches into profitable businesses.

Through this work, I raised over $30 million in business funding, helped multiple companies scale, and even coached a few through successful exits. But the best part? Those conversations shaped how I saw business-building. I didn’t just work for entrepreneurs—I rolled up my sleeves and worked with them.

Why I’m the Right Person to Help You

Here’s the thing that sets me apart—I’ve been in the trenches, learning and failing miserably, not just sitting in a boardroom dishing out advice. Every step of my career has been an experiment, searching for freedom, fulfillment, and financial stability. And every experience has become a tool in the toolkit I now use to help aspiring entrepreneurs like you.

I’ve done it all—built systems to sell products online, launched websites and blogs, created monetization strategies, coached entrepreneurs, and turned napkin ideas into thriving businesses.

And if you’re worried about this all being theory-based fluff, don’t be. I’m hands-on. When I hear someone say, “I can’t figure out how to sell online,” I launch a website myself just to learn the ropes—and to tackle the exact problems they’re facing.

Here’s what I bring to the table for you:

  • Real Experience: I’ve lived through successes and failures, and I’ve learned from all of them.
  • Clear Strategies: No rah-rah fluff here. I focus on tried-and-true business strategies tailored to your specific needs.
  • Proven Results: Hundreds of entrepreneurs (and millions in funding) have come from the lessons I’ve implemented alongside my mentees.
  • Genuine Passion: I’m not just coaching—I’m walking this path with you, building my own business alongside supporting yours.
