Dominican Oatmeal

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups instant oats - or quick oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 2 cups milk your choice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg add to bowl before serving

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan combine oatmeal, salt, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, water and milk.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat. Stirring constantly until the liquids are reduced and you have a soft porridge consistency. Cook a bit longer if you like a thicker consistency.
  • Serve in bowls. Dust the top with fresh ground nutmeg. Add fruits, nuts, honey, let your imagination go wild.
